The PhD retreat is a scientific retreat organized by PhD students for PhD students of the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics. After PhD retreats could not take place in the last years due to the pandemic, we are planning to have a PhD retreat this year from 6th to 8th of November at Schloß Trebnitz. Our venue, the Trebnitz Castle Education and Exchange Centre is an educational institution located east of Berlin in Brandenburg and students will be accommodated in 2- to 4-bed rooms.
The PhD retreat will include invited talks, short student talks, and poster sessions, among other things, and of course there will be ample opportunity to network and get to know each other.
A key part of the PhD retreat is the interaction between PhD students. For this reason, we ask every participant to either give a short talk (~10 min) or present a poster to stimulate scientific discussion. Please also note that should you register for the retreat but not attend, your respective group will be charged with the incurred costs.
